How can I update the pkg lists on a non-networked debian?

Hello,

I have a non-networked debian box at home and a high-bandwidth XP box at work.

I want to upgrade my Debian box.

apt-zip says it can upgrade a non-networked box, but you have to have
an updated pkg list for this to work.

My problem is doing an update. Because the box has no internet
connection at all then 'apt-get update' is a virtual impossibility.

I can get the files via 'apt-get -qq --print-uris install pkg'. No
problem with that.

I wrote a howto on this in my blog at

http://jedrm.wordpress.com/2006/09/12/howto-updateinstallupgrade-a-debian-box-with-no-internet/

But it's such a pain to do it this way.

Does anyone know a better/easier way?

Thanks.
