I'm asking because I have sporadic problems with ethernet not

Hmm, I thought I was the only one with that problem. I think it
is the eipa 5000 board as well.

It usually takes a few cold boots to get the on-board interface
going.

Well *this* is interesting. I have another (SiS) eth interface
(which always works ok...) in the PCI slot, and I have realized
that taking it out the system, powering up the board, waiting the
POST to finish, powering down, inserting the PCI eth back and
booting the system will bring it back to normality. Weird...

It is not *that* annoying with firewall box (epia 5000), because
it is always up. But the other one (epia ME6000) is a server
(disk, subversion, stuff) which I would like to power down
by night...

Besides, it gives me an unconfortable sense of unreliability...

Maybe it's a bios issue? Some one else has experienced this?

Well, since it appears not to be linked to debian, specifically
(the same with ipcop), maybe this is OT.
