Note that I don't try to check / on shutdown, and / also isn't checked by checkfs.sh. I'm wondering what makes / read-only on shutdown. It isn't umountfs, because I've
commented out the relevan remount line.

make a copy of the checkfs script and modify it to
do fsck -f.

Don't have to if /forcefsck is there.
