I tried to work the problem out this way: I installed the Sarge base system,
then with `apt-cdrom add' I added the 6 Etch DVD's to sources.list, then did
'apt-get update' and then `apt-get dist-upgrade'. Do you Debian users think
it's all right?

But now, X won't start. I installed x-window-system and gnome, but when I do:
`$ startx' I get the error message:

. I'm not expert enough to know what to do now. I tried with:

 # dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86

, but nothing happens. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Rodolfo
