Hi! The problem has been solved. My friend uses a Samsung MP0804H (?) harddisc, whose device file had change from hda to sda with 2.6. :-) Is there a list of harddisc involved in this change? Maybe, there should be some easy-to-find info on this (perhaps in a Wiki, don't know if one exists). Peter
