...using some "BSD" software on my Linux machines too.
IF your sources can be compiled easyly with "./configure"
and "make" then it is realy easy to build YOUR OWN Debian
packages of YOUR software.
The most important thing is:
apt-get install build-essential fakeroot

YES! ;-)
Hey, tonight (European time) I will upload a sourcepackage "swhoisd"
to <mentors.debian.net>.
If you have a Debian system installed, (even a base-system) run the
above commandline and then go to the website <mentors.debian.net>
and add the the sources line to your /etc/apt/sopurces.list and run
apt-get update
Now you can change in a directory where you want to installe your
source tree and DO as root
apt-get build-dep swhoisd
and download the sources with
apt-get source swhoisd
which will unpack the sources and patch it.
Now change into the created Directory swhoisd-3.0.5/ and then into
the directory debian/ look into the files I which are there and
specialy into "rules" to get a clue, HOW the package is created.
If you have any questions, feel free to drop me some lines but
please note, that I have no Internet @home and generaly I am only
all two days online.
Thanks, Greetings and nice Day
