"dpkg-reconfigure exim4-config" will ask you a question about
which destinations (i.e. the @somethings) the server treats as local.

The default will include localhost (not really a domain,) and
whatever system mail name was set in one of the previous questions.

What you need to make sure is that all of the names pointing to
your box are set to be accepted as local domains.

Look in the /etc/hosts file and make a note of the names
associated with 127.0.0.1

Do "dpkg-reconfigure exim4-config" again and make sure that all
of these are set as local domains (whether by default, or entered
by you.)

On my Linux desktop here I had to manually add my hostname and
localhost.localdomain, but this may vary.

The Exim4 config file that this is stored in is:
/etc/exim4/update-exim4.conf.conf

If you edit the file manually you will need to run
"update-exim4.conf && invoke-rc.d exim4 restart"

To see where your mail is going you can look in
/var/log/exim4/mainlog

Hope this helps,
