I'll take a look at svn-buildpackage to see if I can gain some enlightenment myself first then ;) If that turns out to be too laborious it might be easier to pull out from svn, 'make dist' and then build from the resulting tar-ball(s). I'll also have to look into the build instructions on gnucash.org to find the dependencies.
