use cdrecord.   under 2.6.x kernels do 

 #  cdrecord dev=/dev/hdX speed=xy    -data -v -eject   some_iso_file   

               under  2.4.x kernels
do first  #  cdrecord -scanbus  dev=ATAPI   (or   dev=ATA) to get x,y,z (scsibus_codes) 

and than      cdrecord  dev=ATAPI:x,y,z  etc.  etc.
