I should have also said to cd /etc/rcS.d; mv *hwclockfirst.sh
S05hwclockfirst.sh for people want to use TZ instead of setting the hardware
clock to UTC.
To make things clear: there are *two* possible work-arounds:
a) Set hardware clock to UTC: this avoids the issue completely
b) Band-aid the localtime support: this avoids all the _current_
problems.
If you can use (a), it is always better. (b) is going to be fixed
eventually, the patch for util-linux is already in the bug report, but the
glibc one _will_ take time, because it requires a lot of *testing*.
