Hi I had a similar problem and a lot of people too. So check the post in this list. I think on 24/4/2005 there is a mail posted by caveman which could help you I suggest to install alsa apt-get install alsa-base alsa-utils alsa-oss then alsaconf alsamixer (set the volumens if necessary) alsactl store good luck Gatopolar
