It's a security release:

DSA-922-1 kernel-source-2.6.8 -- several vulnerabilities

apt-cache policy kernel-image-2.6.8-2-686  will show
2.6.8-16sarge1 as Candidate from
http://security.debian.org sarge/updates/main Packages
