No 386's here, but I have two 486 SX25's with 8MB memory each and 80MB to 120MB HDs that I have been trying to figure out how to get Debian onto.
Some ideas here: http://www.linux.ca/library/linux/minideb.shtml although you would have to strip out some of the apps.
