Re: some apps cannot print anymore since gnome 2.10 upgrade

Hi,

thanks for the input already - I found a thread yesterday that solved
the problem :

apparently, because of Mozilla suite stuff (Firefox, Thunderbird,
Sunbird etc) being maintained cross platform, it cannot hook into the
default settings from the printer parameters.

Therefore, you need to setup the printer parameters to the following if
you are using gnome :

1. Go to File - Print
2. You'll see the printers there, choose the printer you want - and view
it's properties
3. Normally the line for the Print Command will read something like
	lpr {$MOZILLA Printer + '-P'}{$MOZILLA Printer}
	or something similar
4. Change this Print Command line to the following :
/usr/bin/gtklp
if you haven't installed gtklp yet - do so, since otherwise the printer
will still not work

Basically - you need to have a separate interface that uses GTK to be
able to hook your printer into the OS - hence the gtklp (Gnome Toolkit
Line Printer if I am not mistaken)

Hope this helps you out ...

Cheers !
Frank
