Assuming he's using apache2, libapache2-mod-php5 should be all he needs.
Check /usr/share/doc/apache2 to find out how the apache2 package handles
modules. It will need to be enabled using this method (I believe there's
a script in the package to do this).

Maybe a dpkg-reconfigure would trigger it.
