Dear Steven, Thanks! It sounds plausible. Can you give me a bit more detail (or a reference) on how to do that, please? As I recall from reading, the number-order in a particular run level will determine the event ordering, but in what level should networking start, and where do I find the links/scripts? Do you have any idea what might have caused this? It used to work after all. Richard
