perl, locales errormessages

I am trying to get the scandinavian letters (æ ,ø & å) to work after I
made some temorary adjustments to locales (through 'dpkg-reconfigure
locales').
I have gotten a hint to use the locale 'no_NO ISO 8859-1', so I select
this when running 'dpkg-reconfigure locales'.

But, even after making this change, I get this errormessage:

hjem:/home/vegard# dpkg-reconfigure locales
perl: warning: Setting locale failed.
perl: warning: Please check that your locale settings:
        LANGUAGE = "nb_NO:nb:no_NO:no:nn_NO:nn:da:sv:en_GB:en",
        LC_ALL = (unset),
        LANG = "no_NO.UTF-8"
    are supported and installed on your system.
perl: warning: Falling back to the standard locale ("C").

I've tried some googling, but I can not find a relevant hit among the
10 000 search hits. If anybody have a solution, or a quick hint to get
me on the right track I would be really greatful.

Thanks in advance, cheers Vegard
