gnome + nautilus prevent xstarfish from setting background

Hello

I changed from my .xsession based setup to Gnome but now xstartfish seems to
be unable to set the background. Gnome's background preferences is already set
to "no background" but that just seems to mean that it paint it black :-(

Any idea?
