Horrible native resolution "1280x800", other resolution look good (non native on notebook) - please help

Hi,

my notebook, Acer Aspire 1363 WLMi, 15,4" WXGA Display with
a native resolution of 1280x800, has a horrible look.
It looks very good, when working with non native resolutions
of e. g. 1024x768 and 1152x768 (i. e. when it must
interpolate this resolution). I have "played" a lot with
the XF86Config-4 file (in /etc/X11), and have read a
lot of docs. I couldn't find anything. It seems, that
X11 has a problem with this unusual, but native, resolution.

Windows XP looks very good in this native resolution, so
it must be possible to get it (the native resolution)
working. I have tried it with gdm+Gnome, gdm+KDE, kdm+
KDE, kdm+Gnome. Result is always the same: Horrible :-(

Do you have any suggestions? It is a real graphic
chipset, with own (not shared) memory (64 MByte),
Nvidia GeForce FX Go 5200 graphic. I'm currently
using the nv-driver, which is delivered with the
current stable "sarge".

My current XF86Config-4 (it is the one, which it
is used ? I have had to use vi often [now I have
finally installed joe ? why isn't it installed
by default???], cause X won't start after I did
changes to it :-( ) is appended below (as you
can see from the comments, I have played a lot).

Please note: All is working perfectly, but it looks
horrible. I. e. the fonts, icons are "pixelig", an
(e. g.) "I" looks not so:

       ..
       ..
       ..

but(similar to) so:
