I'm responding to the warnings about things breaking on earlier threads
about the Sarge-Etch transition. I have had the apt-listbugs installed
for some time. There are certain things that appear not to be bugs but
are good to know about. For example, on kernel-image upgrades my alsa
module becomes toast and I have to recompile it using the kernel-source
corresponding to the new kernel-image. It's no big deal. There may be
other things of this sort that are easier to deal with if you know what
to expect. I came to debian during the Sarge era (I've always tracked
testing) so this is my first transition experience. Maybe I'm
overreacting to the warnings about things breaking.
Thanks for the advice.
Jonathan
