Re: i810 resolution of 1280x1024
I had a problem with onboard i810 display device and resolution, BUT not on a laptop!
The problem was the amount of buffer memory the device got, and it was a bios configuration.
Look in the bios (i can't remember which section) for vga buffer size
or something similar and change that to the max. (on my case is was 2
options: 1 or 8).
When i set it to 8 i could work with high resolution!!

Hi,
I have a thinkpad with a 82830 chipset. I wanted to change the resolution of
the
external monitor to 1280x1024 but it won't work. I have the latest xorg
xserver
installed and am using the driver i810. I think the problem is that my bios
says
that the resolution is not supported and the i810 driver depends on what the
bios
says. Unfortunately, I can not update my bios, because I don't have a
working
battery for my laptop. Does anyone know a solution?
Thanks,
Wolfgang
