cdrecord failiure with kernel 2.6.8-2-686

cdrecord will not burn cd's after I changed to kernel 2.6.8-2-686,
with the following result to burn an image:

# cdrecord -v KNOPPIX_V3.7-2004-12-08-EN.iso
cdrecord: No write mode specified.
cdrecord: Asuming -tao mode.
cdrecord: Future versions of cdrecord may have different drive
dependent defaults.

cdrecord -scanbus gives me this result, only if I have not tried to
start k3b since last reboot:

# cdrecord -scanbus dev=ATAPI

Well, as you see I can not burn cd's at the moment with kernel
2.6.8-2-686, wich went ok (having some small problems) with kernel
2.4.27-1-386...

Googling this didn't help. Does anyone have an idea?

Cheers, Vegard
