Well, since the language is C++, it makes sense that the alternative
is called "c++", not "g++". If you do
/usr/sbin/update-alternatives --list c++
though, you should see a version of g++. If you really want to call
it g++, you could always set your own symlink to c++. Actually, that
might already be done. (I'm at work, where I'm using RHEL, so I can't
check.)
