RE: is it possible to mount a remote iso file



I know there is ftpfs, an ftp file system, an 'add-on' kernel module
which you load and then can access the ftp site as if it were your local
file system.

However, I do not know how it would 'seek' through the ISO over a
modem/slow connection but just to get it mounted, the above should work.

for  example something like
 mount  -o loop -t iso9660  
http://archive.progeny.com/progeny/linux/iso-i386/pd3de-pr1-1.iso  /tmp
