Hi At 24/04/05 there is a post by caveman something with microphone is the subject. Look there. I had a similar problem but it think it was that the microphone was mute. Are you using kde? I do, and I had to set "Advanced Linux sound architecture" in Control Center -> multimedia->system sound Good luck.
