I got the following:

# apt-get install libqt3-mt
Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
You might want to run `apt-get -f install' to correct these:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
  libqt3-mt: Depends: libpng3 but it is not going to be installed
             Depends: libqt3 (>= 2:3.0.3-1) but it is not going to be installed
  libqt3c102-mt: Conflicts: libqt3-mt but 2:3.0.3-20020329-1woody2 is to be installed
  opera: Depends: libqt3-mt (>= 2:3.1.1) but 2:3.0.3-20020329-1woody2 is to be installed
E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt-get -f install' with no packages (or specify a solution).

Now I no longer get an error message (perhaps because I removed the
opera package). But apt-get wants to downgrade qt to the woody version.
I'm going to install the static version...
