Problem with running Debian vlc/wxvlc

Hi,

I've installed the Debian "Sarge" vlc and wxvlc packages, but when I  
invoke either the "vlc"  or "wxvlc" commands, I receive the messages 
listed below.

I'd be most grateful for any help in resolving this problem.
