Setting Default Process Priorities

I want to know how I can set xmms to a higher priority (say -10) so
that it doesn't cut out when running other programs.

I understand that I can run it with "nice -n -10 xmms" but I can only
run that command as root, which means I would have to use sudo and I
don't like that approach. Is there a way to set a default priority?

Thanks.
