Japanese support for Acrobat 7
Hello. This may be non-debian specific, but I'd better ask.
I downloaded Acrobat 7 for Linux, and installed it in sid.
Although Adobe's website does not provide Japanese Kit for Linux for this
version, I used the Kit for version 5.x, and modifying the installation
script:

- if [ 1 -lt "expr "$Version" : '7.*'" ]
+ if [ 1 -lt "expr "$Version" : '5.*'" ]
then
echo " "
echo "Installing..."
I was able to install it and read files with Japanese text.
But I'm not able to print them. I have a Xerox Phaser 6201J. I'm using CUPS.
Didn't find a ppd file for that printer, but I've been using an Apple
LaserWriter v23.0 succesfully from woody (with Acrobat 5.x, and any other
application).
I installed gs-cjk-resource, the fonts (ttf-kochi-mincho ttf-kochi-gothic),
restarted CUPS, restarted Acrobat, but nothing. Japanese fonts do appear,
but occassionally they are superimposed, so you cannot really read. (Not
that I understand much Japanese anyway!)
Am I missing something? Suggestions?
Thanks,
Victor
