I am experiencing a strange problem with cdrecord in Debian unstable. I tried to burn a cd iso (using k3b as a normal user). It started ok, speed was around 20x. Then, suddenly, after 220 MB, the speed dropped at around 2-3x until the end.

I wonder if it is a media issue? Do you get the same behavior using a
different brand of media?

Good luck,

Reid

I've tried with a CD-RW and it was ok. And I don't have other type of CD-R's around for the moment. However, I've talked with a friend who has the same CD-RW unit (LG) and uses the same media. He, however, uses Windows and Nero and he told me he didn't have any problems.

As I said in an earlier mail, the problem is solved by writing at a lower speed. So until I am able to figure out what exactly is happening, I will write at a lower speed.

Thanks!

Stelian
