I used to do it this way too.
This is not necessary anymore, just use the debs produced by Pavel in the
directory I mentioned in my earlier post. The debs can be installed with
dpkg --install *.deb
so you do not need the force anymore.
The debs co-exist with an official debian install of OO stable.

Furthermore you can use the status quo which is already two builds beyond the beta release (m84)

installed yesterday openoffice beta 2.00 >> 1.9.xx. all went well. however: could not get
the dutch speller-control going. what did i wrong?? all in options, languages etc. seems normal.

pleas advise me!
i badly need this feature for my work.
