I have used an NVIDIA 5950 for months with no crash.

I am not describing a bug with the KDE screen saver module. This is a driver
problem with the NVIDIA drivers for the 6600 and 6800 cards. I can reproduce
it with the opengl applications, but it happens even without them.
It happens while I am editing using perl scripts using emacs :(

I can provoke it to happen sooner with OpenGl applications (glxgears...)
But it is just a problem with the Nvidia drivers.

It is very frustrating. If you go to the www.nvnews.net site for linux
http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=14

For instance just this minute a new report pops up
http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=47212

you will see countless people complaining of the problem, and others who dont
have it. Likely they have different motherboards or something. This is a real
problem, that I did not see discussed before I bought the 6600.

I am glad I didnt buy a 6800 ultra ( 500/600 + dollars!!!) or 2 of them for
the SLI board. My past experience with nvidia and debian was excellent.

Lets hope enough people can help figure out the problem.
