All files need inodes. If you want support for tail-packing, use
Reiserfs. XFS *may* support this as well, but I'm not sure. At least
with Reiserfs, XFS, and JFS, you don't need to pre-allocate space for
inodes, and you won't run out as long as you have free disk space.
