Except, there's a "most pupular one" in each category and type of
accounting. Off the top of my head, there is ip/bandwidth accounting, or
financial accounting, or accounting for disk space/user quotas, etc.
So, before we can recommend the one that meets the needs of "most
others", we need to know which "most others" you're referring to.
