Oops! I think that it is, because if you can't fulfill the
dependencies in a given distribution, then one can't be sure that
security updates will be possible.
And, AFAIK, I have seen one bug of this kind filed with a high
severity (I don't remember which one now) with the mono packages.
Again, if I am not mistaken.
