I'm not certain I understand. Do you mean you installed lilo on
hdb and your computer won't boot it?  If so, this is handled by your
computer's BIOS.

You can check your BIOS to see if it allows booting from that drive.
If not, then you will have to install lilo to hda (or at least a
partition on hda).
