So it's not really an issue. It's just an anxious window manager wanting to shut 'er down quickly. I use Courier-IMAP on the server end of things. Courier & Thunderbird conflict over connections per IP. Courier has a hard limit and Thunderbird ignores refusals for connections below its hard limit.
