More clues, if I up the log-level by using debug=4 as an option,
syslog now contains:
------
Feb 21 10:03:45 oucs-jamesc kernel: smb_add_request: request
[c5faae80, mid=77] timed out!
Feb 21 10:03:45 oucs-jamesc kernel: smb_trans2: invalid data, disp=0,
cnt=0, tot=0, ofs=0
Feb 21 10:04:15 oucs-jamesc kernel: smb_add_request: request
[c5faae80, mid=88] timed out!
-----
Does that just mean it has timed out? If so, what might be the problem?
