how to remove (purge?) ppp-packages
Hi
I no longer connect through ADSL but use a cable connection now.
Therefore I no longer need the pppoe connection I configured previously.
The following ppp packages are installed on my system:
ii ppp 2.4.2+20040428 Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) daemon
ii pppconfig 2.3.10 A text menu based utility for
configuring pp
ii pppoe 3.5-4 PPP over Ethernet driver
ii pppoeconf 1.0.11 configures PPPoE/ADSL connections
During booting I noticed the following message:
Wed Feb 16 13:13:59 2005:
******************************************************************************
Wed Feb 16 13:13:59 2005: * /etc/ppp/ppp_on_boot is deprecated. Please
configure your system to use

consult /usr/share/doc/ppp/README.Debian.gz and interfaces(5)

by /etc/init.d/ppp .

Wed Feb 16 13:13:59 2005: Starting up PPP link: pppd.
As I no longer need pppoe can I simply remove these packages? If so,
how?
Will "apt-get remove ppp pppconfig pppoe pppoeconf" also remove these
config files? Or do I need to use "dpkg purge ppp pppconfig pppoe
pppoeconfig"?
TIA
Bram
