xawtv text problem

Hello,

I have a new installation of Debian Sarge. 
Xawtv works fine exept on one point.  I get strange letters when I open the 
Option-menu or Stations-list.
If I start xawtv from a console to see the errors I get:

This is xawtv-3.94, running on Linux/i686 (2.4.27-1-386)
Warning: Cannot convert string "-*-ledfixed-medium-r-*--39-*-*-*-c-*-*-*" to 
type FontStruct

Does someone knows how I can get nice letters like I am used to?
