I install netqmail and ucspi-tcp from source (with minimal patches). I don't
bother with daemontools (primarily because I don't like multilog) - I use
custom startup scripts to manage qmail and tcpserver processes.

I don't use vmailmgr, but I would suggest installing it from source as well.
