Hi,
The module sb.o is loaded, the kudzu program link this module to the 
ES1869,  but write this in /etc/modutils/kudzu. But the alsaconf  
searched for  snd-es18xx, et didn't find it while the module is the same 
as sb.
this is the output of the kudzu
alias snd-card-0 sb
install sb /sbin/modprobe --ignore-install sb && /usr/sbin/alsactl 
restore >/dev/null 2>&1 || :
remove sb { /usr/sbin/alsactl store >/dev/null 2>&1 || : ; }; 
/sbin/modprobe -r --ignore-remove sb


So the problem is that kudzu ( written for redhat ) detected the card, 
but didn't put the file where the debian system can find it !!!??.  On 
the same machine the Knoppix-sndconfig find it whithout problem. I want 
to install the Knoppix-sndconfig , but need the source or .deb ?
