setting up cups?

Hi,
I'm currently setting up a sarge system
and I'm having problem setting up cups.
I'm using synaptic to do this.Under synaptic
I selected cupsys-1.1.23, cupsys-bsd, and
cupsys-client.After the install was done, I 
then used the print wizard to set-up my
HP laserjet 1100.I then rebooted my system.
I notice that my printer was recognize in 
the start-up messeges. Nothing Prints.
any help would appreciated.
