Are you asking whether you should select the 386 or the K6 option in your configuration phase of kernel compilation? I'd start with the K6 (assuming you're the same guy asking a similar question earlier and have a K6 board - I generally don't keep threads, and I'm too lazy to go look it up).

If you're asking which kernel you should boot off of before even starting the compilation process, I'd say K6 (same assumption above) unless it causes problems that the 386 does not.

If you're asking something else, sorry; I don't yet understand your question.
