I wouldn't go so far as to say it works perfectly. This is Sid we're
talking about, so you can't realisticly expect it to behave all the
time.
I've been running GNOME 2.8 for about two months on a Dell Inspiron
5100. Most of the problems I've run into are not show-stoppers, just
annoying.
