Looking at Novell's certification documentation for several variants of the
306 (http://cdb.suse.de and
http://developer.novell.com/yessearch/Search.jsp), you should probably use
the "acpi=oldboot" kernel parameter and possibly some kind of newer version
of the aic7xxx driver.
