Well it wasn't configured right or it should have worked then.  I was
trying to figure out just what he had done with the skimpy info
supplied.  He couldn't find the device and the dev=help is in the 4th
paragraph of the man page.

I hardly ever use that but when he ignored the error prompt
"For possible transport specifiers try 'cdrecord dev=help'" I got kind of fed up.

I'm not embarassed if it helped him find his problem.
