kdm upgrade lost use of keyboard!

I "apt-get dist-upgrade"d on Friday (7th) and when I rebooted, X had no use of 
keyboard. I used the mouse to log out, taking me back to the KDM screen, but 
still I couldn't use the keyboard. I couldn't even Ctl+Alt+F2 to get a 
console. But, if (using the mouse), I chose "Console Logon" from KDM, I could 
type once again.

Then "killall kdm" and running kdm as root again, brought it all up in 
functioning order.

Anyone else had this problem with KDE 3.3?
