The debian man page also has it as an option, but when its output in syslog as 
an error the string "dhcp." seems to have been added to the front of it.  

As you say, its an option to prevent hostname being passed back from before 
before the {} brackets - but the reading of the man page also implies that 
that is only if there is NOT an option host-name statement.  Since there is 
one, it doesn't matter
