It depends a lot in what you are trying to achieve,
also depends on the router/dsl that you have, I always
prefer iptables as my firewall is more secure at my
point of view and you have more control over what
packets are goin in to your network or better you can
use the built in firewall and iptables.

Nevertheless as I mention it depends a lot in what
level of security you are trying to achieve.
